The Tiger Woods Dubai Project Gains Rapid Ground as one of World’s Most Exclusive Landmark Developments

Construction Work Commences on Dedicated Substation; Over 1,184 Trees from Thailand and South Africa Planted Onsite

Dubai-UAE: 25 June, 2008 – The Tiger Woods Dubai, a member of Tatweer, announced today it has made significant progress at the development that is poised to notch premium status as one of the world’s most exclusive and elegant lifestyle destinations featuring inimitable components including the spectacular Tiger Woods-designed Al Ruwaya Golf Course.

The project’s upcoming residential structures, infrastructure and utilities, the hotel, clubhouse, and the world’s first Tiger Woods’ designed golf course within the 55 million sq. feet development are making rapid strides towards the targeted completion timeline of end-2009.

Abdulla Al Gurg, Project Director, The Tiger Woods Dubai, said: “We are highly motivated by the progress marked by the development. Following the approval of the master plan by the Dubai Municipality, infrastructure work for the road network has started. Meanwhile, construction has commenced on most of the structures, including, the clubhouse and the hotel, while the residences to commence in two months.

With the aesthetically appealing landscaping nearly over, we are currently setting up the elevations for the golf course. We are confident the emirate will be one of the most recognized cities for golf in the world. ”

Among the components that have registered remarkable progress onsite include the commencement of construction for the dedicated substation. Alongside excavation work for the six-metre deep lakes as well as for the foundation of the club house, nearly 31,000 cubic meters of cut and fill per day is in progress at the golf course area. The design for five of the 18 holes has also been simultaneously accomplished, with creative concepts being explored for the remaining holes.

Providing a picturesque effect to the project are the 1,184 trees that are currently planted on site. Imported from Thailand and South Africa, some of the trees are as tall as 12 metres, making them one of the largest ever to be imported into Dubai.

RO plants have been installed on site to purify 5000m3/day of TSE water to specified standard for the Trees and turf.

Starting from 30 June, over 20 containers of trees and shrubs will be translocated onsite per week, while over 10 hectares of sprigs for the turf have been planted at the nursery to eventually transform The Tiger Woods Dubai as one of the greenest master developments in the region.

Al Gurg added: “True to the world’s expectations, The Tiger Woods Dubai will not only represent a new landmark in Dubai, it will set unparalleled industry benchmarks that will be hard to replicate. In keeping with Tatweer’s philosophy of trust and transparency, we are delighted to share details and the excitement that prevail around this project.”

The Tiger Woods Dubai recently announced its partnership with the world renowned Lebanese designer Elie Saab to design the interiors of its exclusive 360,000 sq. ft. luxury boutique hotel. The exclusive AED600 million hotel bearing Elie Saab's name will integrate his unique signature style into its design, reflecting Tatweer’s determination and commitment towards creating original world-class developments in Dubai .

Located at Dubailand, the world’s most ambitious leisure, tourism and entertainment destinations, The Tiger Woods Dubai is fast taking shape as an exclusive golf community encompassing a professionally-staffed golf academy; a 139,000 sq. feet clubhouse with premium amenities; a high-end destination spa; 22 palaces; 75 mansions, and 100 luxury villas and community service facilities.
