DHCC, the world's first healthcare free zone, boasts two complementary communities, namely, the Medical Community and the Wellness Community. The Medical Community, which focuses on acute care services, occupies an area of 4.1 million square feet. The Wellness Community covers 19 million square feet and completes DHCC’s healthcare continuum by providing hospitals, outpatient clinics, luxury spa resorts, and the entire spectrum of wellness services.
The Center for Healthcare Planning & Quality (CPQ)
DHCC has appointed the Center for Healthcare Planning and Quality (CPQ) as its regulatory body to oversee a quality assurance program that will lead continuous improvement throughout the entire city.
The Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Academic Medical Center
The Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Academic Medical Center is at the core of the DHCC’s clinical and educational structure. This central core comprises five components, namely, the University Hospital; the Harvard Medical School Dubai Center Institute for Postgraduate Education and Research; the Dubai Harvard Foundation for Medical Research; Al Maktoum Harvard Medical Library; and Boston University Dental Health Center & Institute for Dental Research & Education.
Other Partnerships
In efforts to further its mission, DHCC has embarked on other initiatives to bring the best variety in healthcare to the region. One such project is with Dubai Bone & Joint Center (DBAJ), which is the first comprehensive center in the region dedicated to musculoskeletal diseases. Another project is Dubai Medical Suites (DMS), which has been established to attract world-renowned specialists from around the globe to practice locally in efforts to support the demand for quality medical care.
