What is the purpose behind establishing TATWEER?
The establishment of TATWEER was a milestone in line with the rapid growth of companies under the Dubai Holding Group. The ongoing growth of the group brought with it a wealth of opportunities and challenges that required high standards of management solutions. It therefore called for the creation of TATWEER, a specialist management firm that will concentrate on managing a number of Dubai Holding market-leading companies.
The main reason behind establishing TATWEER is to apply the most sophisticated corporate standards of business excellence and quality throughout the operations and activities of the companies it is responsible for. TATWEER has been created to ensure excellence in performance and achieve the long-term strategic objectives of Dubai Holding and its subsidiary companies.

TATWEER will focus on leadership development to achieve business excellence and world class quality standards for all of its subsidiaries.
TATWEER will become a world class enterprise through value generation, customer focus and excellence for our people and stakeholders. In addition, it will focus on developing and diversifying the business portfolio by capitalizing on market opportunities in existing and new sectors.

What about TATWEER’s investments?
Our main aim is to increase the investments of all TATWEER companies by focusing on management leadership and business diversification. Therefore, one of the main foundations of our business plan is to raise the amount of investments and we expect the investments to cross AED 12 billion in two years time.

What are the objectives that TATWEER will achieve in the companies it is managing?
Alongside raising the performance standards of the subsidiary companies it is running, TATWEER will focus on leadership development and bringing together an effective management team by applying world class standards of business excellence and quality.
We will also stress on providing the appropriate support in the investment planning domain and managing skills, thus enabling connections with the best global business success stories and applications.

But doesn’t this negate the private management roles of each of these companies?
On the contrary, establishing TATWEER does not negate the entities’ role as individual companies, but rather is considered complementary. We are committed to follow the guidelines provided by Dubai Holding that gives the subsidiary companies complete authority and flexibility to run their operations.
TATWEER has created specialized departments for financial planning, human resources, and information technology, and marketing, management and media affairs. It works closely with the leadership of the subsidiary companies to provide them with full support for their corporate needs enabling them to concentrate on what is really important: making their business grow.
It also concentrates on establishing connections and partnerships with its subsidiaries to support the overall development strategy of Dubai, the UAE, and the region in general.

But isn’t there a big difference between the nature of each of the companies operating under TATWEER?
That is true. That is why the companies under TATWEER are divided into three groups. The first group is made up of the companies that operate within the Knowledge and Industry Sector (Dubai Industrial City). The second group comprises companies operating in the Entertainment and Leisure sector (DUBAILAND™, The Tiger Woods Dubai, Bawadi, Universal Studios Dubailand, Lammtara Pictures, and Global Village), and the third group includes companies operating within the sectors of Healthcare and Energy (Dubai Healthcare City, Dubai Energy and the Dubai Mercantile Exchange.)
We believe that this kind of diversification in the corporation’s activities can only benefit TATWEER.

Yes, TATWEER’s management structure has been set as well as the management team which consists of Saeed Al Muntafiq as Executive Chairman, Khalid Al Malik as Chief Executive Officer.

Developing and qualifying national manpower is of priority at Dubai Holding as per the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, that national human resources are the most precious assets of the country.
The past few years have seen the launch of programmes that aim at identifying and developing young nationals.
